Baseball Hall of Famer Sells Botaniko Home to Marlins Pitcher
(City of Weston – February 24, 2022) Baseball hall of Fame catcher Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez and his wife, Gloria Patricia Gomez, sold their Weston mansion to Miami Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara and his wife, Yorleny Maritinez Aquino.
Located in the Botaniko gated community, the home features six bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, a media room, an office, a balcony, a summer kitchen, a Jacuzzi and a pool. It’s situated along a lake.

About the Project
Botaniko is a new residential community located on a 120-acre former golf course in the City of Weston, Florida with 125 single-family contemporary residences. Just half-a-mile from Everglades National Park, it was designed as an ecotone where the Everglades biome and a suburban community merge. Botaniko was designed primarily with native plants, selected to match those of the Everglades, to create a drought-tolerant, diverse landscape while providing a sense of lushness. Dense green buffers create natural habitat along the community’s streetscapes, parks, lakes, and perimeter.
